A Few Left-Wing Amendments
Taking a few back for the good guys.
Fair is fair, right…? No…maybe…?
Since the current state of affairs seems to be that Jabba the Trump’s MAGAt spawn get to pass laws denying, among other things, the voting rights of minorities, the bodily autonomy of women, and the notion that the LGBTQ community even exists…I feel it appropriate to propose a few Constitutional Amendments that work to take away the things they hold most dear.
Let’s Begin.
Proposed Amendment 1 -
The right of all children to a scientifically accurate public education, informed by the best understanding of the age contemporary to said education, free of sectarian religious influence, shall not be infringed. No public funds are allowed for use or disbursement where education, and the institution providing said education, is primarily or largely religious in nature or function. This Amendment modifies Amendment 1.
Rationale: Religionists have been working for years to undermine public education so that they can indoctrinate as many kids as possible into the christian faith, whether the kids are interested or not. They insist they have a right to do so merely because the First Amendment gives them religious freedom. Unfortunate for the rest of us, ‘liberty’ and ‘license’ are too…
