I advocate for Copyleft principles and ideals as the better way, but it ultimately wont lead society to the Palace of Wisdom, as it were. People have been conditioned by years of 'free' software and other digital sundries, and many are now living under the delusion that limited permission is an unlimited license to do as one will. CC is better for the reasons you state but it also muddies the waters of potential profit because most people don't care about respecting the creator any longer. I can't count the number of times I've heard horror stories from artists who were asked by commissioners to take their signature off of a work simply because the client didn't think it appropriate or desirable. This is exactly why exploitation needs to be conquered in the realm of human motivation. As long as people exist with the will to perpetually exploit seemingly free resources and trolls are enabled to harass the innocent, no one is safe and society will never get woke to the greater wisdom intended by the advent of the CC school of thought.
