Don't know if you'll ever read this but eliminating 'negativity' isn't always that easy. Science is starting show that people with mental health problems have atrophy in certain regions of the brain that affect how they respond to input. Areas like the hippocampus and amygdala are responsible for regulating memory, emotion, fear response, etc. Hence, if these brain structures aren't functioning properly, even mildly 'negative' stimuli can seem catastrophic depending on the day and time.
Staying objective is certainly important, no question, but please try to keep in mind that people who aren't always positive may be fighting their own stubborn biology as they move through their day.
