Eliminating social media algorithms and their effect on human thinking would go a long way toward balancing these scales. By which I mean to say that the modern zeitgeist is built on more assumptions than is reasonable, and one of the worst assumptions is that engagement is inherently better than not. Therefore, any decisions made in the pursuit of a healthy bottom line will favor and ultimately glorify the extrovert model. At the same time, algorithms encourage detachment from more involved thinking by conditioning people to accept what they're given, on the assumption that a computer is better able to predict and provide for their intellectual and social needs. As the Orwellian model lays out, lower quality thinking leads to a lower likelihood of large scale change. And as the mythology of Frank Herbert's Dune lays out, leaving the hard work to machines leads to disaster.

There is no god. No one can demonstrate otherwise.
