Holy Shit…Awkward!
Some things are just too painful to experience.
Lately, I’ve been doing my due diligence as an intellectual, a musician and fan of history by going through The Scorpions discography album by album, from the first to get an appreciation for their catalog as a whole. Everything was going fine…their early stuff was good but not outstanding, then they started to hit in the late 70s and enjoyed a golden age between ‘Love at First Sting’ and ‘Crazy World’. The 90s were worth a look, for the most part…but then I came to their 1999 album ‘Eye ll Eye’ and…BRICK WALL!
This album is such a drastic departure for the band that even if Randy Newman, William Shatner and Rob Zombie covered the 12 worst Lawrence Welk songs with Ryan Reynolds on Autoharp and Dee Dee Ramone on kazoo, as an Old Navy exclusive…it still wouldn’t be as big of a mismatch as this album was for a band as notable as this. Do yourself a favor and NEVER LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM, not even once. You have been warned…
