How do you propose to draft into service such a user base, because, as I see it, the algorithmic trash being dumped on us ad nauseum is frustrating the available user base to the point that the deeper thought required to be a maintainer of the commons is becoming rarer by the day. No one is going to want to wade through shit constantly just to get to the few genuine gems which might be floating just below the surface.

Speaking personally, I use technology all the time but I'm nowhere near tech-minded. I use Linux but I'm not a Linux guy. I understand the basic principle behind things like Terminal but only because I was reared on DOS. I'm certainly not capable of running a linux machine purely by Terminal commands. I do most of my browsing through Tor because I understand that it's the safer method, but I don't claim to understand how it works in precise terms. And when it comes to acquiring new skills, it's almost impossible to know where to start because there are so many avenues to explore and so few experts available to help mentor the more concerned, slightly more capable members of the user pool, such as myself.

If you want a more capable community at the ready to keep the shitheads from ruining the lot, there have to be more precise roadmaps to getting where we need to go. And I don't mean going to college either. For some of us, that ship has sailed.
