I couldn't finish the first season because it basically shit all over everything that made the initial trilogy good, and only vaguely resembled the story I remember. Plus, the injection of East vs. West imagery in the Terminus invasion episodes made me sick to my stomach. Sure, there was cultural tension between planets in the novels, but it was a mistake to transpose Middle Eastern terrorism motifs into the story, as if that's the only way to illustrate conflict. Pandering at its worst if you ask me.
