I don't use social media. I've never been on Twitter, haven't used FB in almost a decade, never touched Instagram. It's never been good for my mental health, even when it was just SixDegrees and ICQ or what have you. I started to realize about fifteen years ago that the information age was really a mass psychology experiment, unintentionally designed to see how easily people could be manipulated into serving this or that economic/political agenda. We stopped being customers and started serving as guinea pigs, studied to see who would take anything offered for free regardless of the consequences to our private lives. So I started a process of liberating myself from the overlords of the capitalist propaganda machine, as much as possible at any rate. Digital serfdom is not my idea of a life well lived, sufficed to say.
