I managed to get out of jury duty after four hours the first time I was called. I didn't have to lie either. I just pissed the prosecutor off during voir dire when he asked the CSI question. I did it by stating that I was unwavering in my adherence to solid evidence as a basis for conviction, that I was unwilling to accept the anemic 'beyond a reasonable doubt' thresholds of evidence in the current justice system, and that I would be willing to violate any judicial instructions if I felt a higher standard of evidence wasn't being met. It's basically the Jury Nullification position with my own ideas about police corruption and judicial overreach added in.
