I remember something similar happened back when Obama was elected. A whole cadre of racist rednecks got together to protest his election win, presented articles to certain state governments on why they thought he was illegitimate. They even went so far as to hold a convention of some kind in Southern Illinois, if I recall correctly.

It was all nonsense, of course. One of their main grievances was that we had a president whose father wasn't born in the U.S. but there is no such requirement in existence. So yeah, it's all bullshit.
