It is, indeed, a very egocentric realm, the human world. We are more alike than different but we fool ourselves into believing minor differences matter in the grand scheme.

This is why I err on the side of science for the most part. Brain science is really starting to produce answers for why humans are the way we are, how biochemical processes are behind cause and effect. I'm hopeful this will help render religion and philosophy moot so that we can start reasoning on a higher intellectual plane of reality.
