As the fallout from Georgia’s voter suppression hate-gasm continues, I find myself in a rather interesting position. For one thing, I’ve enjoyed greatly the films and television shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And without Georgia having invested so well in it’s film industry, much of my life these last ten years could have been very different. So hooray for Georgia on that front. On the other hand, I face-palm daily when I read the news and hear of yet another ignorant talking head pissing and moaning about ‘cancel culture’ and corporate activism due to the fact that so many people are pulling their investments out of Georgia over these laws. It really illustrates the lack of imagination extant on the Right and goes a long way toward explaining why society is leaving Right-Wing sensibilities behind.
Right-Wingers clearly can’t handle, it seems, that society is changing for the better, and this despite adequate foreknowledge of the things to come. I hate to tell you this, you Tucker’s and Sean’s and Laura’s of the Conserva-sphere, but demographers have known for at least three decades that White people in the U.S. would be in the minority by the mid-21st century. You’ve had plenty of time to get used to the idea and figure out how to go with the flow…
