Not at the moment, perhaps, but the technology will emerge. It's inevitable. Brain fingerprinting is purportedly already a better lie detection method than polygraph ever was, not that it's widely implemented. And we've already figured out how to erase traumatic memories, in animals at least. What we need to do at the moment is encourage ethical uses of emerging technology so as to build a more equitable social consciousness for the future.
