I like the idea of tattoos on white marble. It reminds us of the ways in which ancient artists would have colored the originals. Most people look at sculpture like the Elgin marbles today and assume they were always lacking in color, and that's a real failure of imagination.

Petrilli has some very interesting work. I see elements of Dali and Escher there, maybe some Magritte as well. Will have to look into her catalog more closely.

The distorted perspective in Robusti's work is intriguing as well.
