There's a simple example I like to use to refute the bullshit tax-cut masturbation the Righties use to get their diseased economic rocks off. Let's imagine a society where there are 100 people and it costs $25 a day per person to maintain reasonably livable infrastructure. If another person suddely enters the mix, say via birth, that's an additional $25 per day that has to be raised to maintain the previous livability standards. If you cut taxes, the quality of infrastructure for the average citizen declines in an ever-increasing population. Raising taxes to keep pace with infrastructure necessities (because we all know humans aren't going to accept any overt attempts at population control) is appropriate and targeting those taxes at people who can afford to pay a greater chunk of their abundance is the just thing to do. Sadly, all that the rich vermin in this country seem to want is a return to medieval feudalism, so that they can do as they please to an even greater extent without the threat of backlash.
