As it regards Simplistic Thinking in today’s modern world -
How many people are there in this society who say, on the one hand, ‘Don’t tell me what to do’ and yet are perfectly fine with, on the other hand, being led around by the cortex, being subconsciously influenced by whatever outrage-machine crap the social-media-algorithm demons throw at them…?
How many people are there in this society who still blindly adhere to quaint hallmark-ian aphorisms like ‘Home is where the heart is’ or ‘Blood is thicker than water’ without considering that dysfunction is literally everywhere and most family situations are absolutely NOT as ideal as your average anachronistic 50s sitcom, regardless of outward appearances...?
How many people are there in this society who blindly adhere to the notion that ‘both sides deserve a say’ without considering that the discussion has to be reasonable before ‘both sides’ are worth listening to in any given conversation…?
How many people are there in this society who go in for ‘organic’ foods or ‘super-foods’ simply because they were told it is better to eat this way, having never taken the time to investigate deeper than the advertising buzzwords…?
How many people are there in this society who never question the economic model that says ‘sex sells’, who never think to stop supporting people who use sex to sell; who never consider that there are a lot better ways to make a memorable point than flashing a pair of tits…?
How many people are there in this society who so blindly adhere to religion, that they end up weaponizing it against reasonable people, twisting its dictates on compassion and empathy to the point that those words lose all salient meaning…?
