Yep, it's a sorted and nasty history they have, proving without a doubt that religion is not a faithful wellspring of morality. Unless you've studied history, you probably won't know that there were a lot of white 'christian' churches fighting against the Civil Rights Movement, even though it was, itself, a religious movement.
